Both award-winning artists in their own right, Noah is the man behind Velocolour Bicycle Painting and Suzanne is a multi-talented craftsperson and designer.
Together they produce functional items, objects and installations based on their unique vision. Playful, colourful and made with care, Carl and Rose creations infuse every environment with a little extra joy.
Carl and Rose is colour, quality and Canadian-made.
Suzanne Carlsen graduated in 2006 from the Ontario College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Design in jewellery and metalsmithing. Upon graduation, she was an artist-in-residence at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto until 2009. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, her first American solo exhibition was in 2011 at Quirk Gallery, in Richmond, Virginia. She has received numerous grants, awards and scholarships, most recently from the Canada Council for the Arts.
Noah graduated from Sheridan College’s School of Craft and Design and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a major in Ceramics. He has created and exhibited a wide variety of work, from functional ceramics to large scale sculptural installations. In 2005 Noah began an apprenticeship painting bicycles for master frame builder Mike Barry. In 2008 Rosen opened, Toronto based, VéloColour, a custom paint shop in Toronto focused on the highest execution of bicycle refinishing and vintage frame paint restoration.
